Top 5 exercises that are BETTER than kegels
Nov 20, 2023Ever wonder how often you should do kegels?
Or why kegels aren't working?
As a doctor of orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapy, I almost NEVER recommend kegels.
Why? Because the kegel muscles (pelvic floor) need to be SUPPORTED, not blamed for bladder leaks.
These 5 exercises are incredibly effective in supporting the pelvic floor, so that it can work better.
However, before you get over-joyed, thinking this list is the answer to fixing bladder leaks. You should know, this list of exercises is ONLY effective when done correctly. Which, while these movements are fundamental and basic; they are often done incorrectly. Watch the video above for a demo of how the squat, for example, is done incorrectly. This is the list:
1. Bridges
2. Squat
3. Hip hinge
4. Lunges
5. Reverse lunge slide outs
